Arklow
Arklow is a great location for English language courses. Because it is not too big, most host families live within walking distance of the school, or a very short bus ride away. It is a youthful seaside town of 18,000 inhabitants situated 60 km. from Dublin city centre.
There is excellent shopping available in the Bridgewater Leisure and Shopping Plaza (pictured above), and a wide range of other facilities and attractions - hotels, cinema, sports centres, a swimming pool, mini-golf courses, horse-riding, golf etc. A new bowling centre is also planned.
There is a regular bus and train service to Dublin city centre where you can avail of all the amenities of a youthful and vibrant capital city.
All of Wicklow’s famous attractions are nearby. You can visit Wicklow’s Historic Gaol, or experience the peace and tranquillity of Glendalough. The golden beaches of Brittas Bay are only a few kilometres away or you can visit Avondale House or Powerscourt Gardens.
